Our Trip to Fredericksburg

Last weekend we took a trip to Fredericksburg, TX. We left Abilene on Friday morning hoping that Ella would sleep while we drove. We arrived in Fredericksburg shortly after lunch time. After a quick check-in at the hotel, The Inn on Baron's Creek, we walked to Rathskeller for a little German lunch. After lunch we walked down Main Street and did some shopping. Ben didn't mind this so much after we learned that the breweries sold beers to go and you can walk in and out of the shops with them. We also stopped at a bar called the Auslander for a glass of local wine.

After some shopping and imbibing we were ready to hit the pool. Ella really liked the nice warm water. The hotel has a salt water pool so Ella and I were able to spend lots of time swimming without all the chemicals.
Later, on Friday evening we went to the Alamo Springs Cafe for dinner and to watch the bats emerge.

On Saturday, we took in the Pacific War Museum and the Gillespie County Fair. We also did some more swimming since Ella liked it so much. For lunch we went to the Fredericksburg Brewing Company.

For Dinner on Saturday we drove to Luckenbach, Tx. Ben sang the song constantly... and he is doing it right now...again. On Sunday we headed home and prepared for another week of work. Sadly, we missed Kat Von D and Jesse James in Fredericksburg. I am sure they had as much fun as we did, but minus the adorable baby to tote around.
