Some pictures of our yard

Our grass is now two weeks old and is starting to come in nicely. There are a few places where our seed washed out or low spots where water has pooled, but we have pretty good overall coverage. I'll supplement the lawn with some seed here in a couple weeks to try and fill in the gaps.

Tiffany and I spent the day today working on the flower bed in front of the house. We planted (from right to left) red yucca, Texas sage, mealycup sage, mealycup sage, Texas sage, and Tuscan blue rosemary. Around the side of the house there are two silverado sages but they aren't pictured here.

This is a little flower garden we put in the backyard. This is a drainage area for the roof and a place where the grass was having a hard time getting established. We planted a spineless prickly pear, but it'll take a little time to grow and establish itself.

Here is our south side yard. We were having a hard time getting grass to take in this area and decided to put pea gravel down. The gravel will act as a buffer from rainwater runoff and protect our foundation, the air conditioner slab, and the stoop off our garage door. Additionally, it's less area for me to mow. Once the grass comes in, there should be a relatively seamless transition between the grass and the rock. By the way, pea gravel is sold by the yard and half a yard will go a real long ways.

Lastly, here is a picture of Sam enjoying her new backyard. The cactus garden is on the bottom left side of the picture. Sam seems to get a kick of going outside and rolling in the mud. Then she gets mad at us for giving her a bath afterward. Figure that one out. Anyway, this is a good look at the grass coming in.

We have a room with a bed and everything ready for company. We'd even let you have your own bathroom.
